Have you ever been to North Berwick? It’s a quirky little seaside town around twenty-five miles out of Edinburgh. I love it, and it has some of the best ice cream I’ve tasted in Scotland.
But first stop, the Lobster Shack. It’s this tiny little hut in the harbour where they sell seriously good seafood and chips. And this coming from the girl who doesn’t even like fish! This is where I had my first ever taste of lobster, and I’ll be going back for more. They serve your food in cardboard boxes, and you’ve got the choice of anywhere in the harbour to sit. I watched the sailboats for what felt like forever.
The other thing about North Berwick that I can’t get over is how many dogs there are. Everywhere I turned there was another one strutting along the seafront or through the little high street. Amazing. Anyway, ice cream. Gelateria Alandas is where you need to go. I had raspberry ripple and it was out of this world!
The next time I go back, I’m going to climb The Law which I haven’t done since I was a kid. Then I might even go out on a boat! I just can’t get enough of the seaside.
